If you are going to get into professonal modeling and rendering these or drafting these are my minimum recomendations.

The fastest Mac G3 with 96 megs of ram and 6 meg hard drive
19" monitor
2 gig hard drive
IBM formatted discs
Powercadd, Radiance, Photoshop and Painter

I don't have time to go into my recommendations but I think you are wasting your time if you don't have the above hardware and software.
I can tell you that you model faster on a larger monitor.
