Message - .PICT files on a PC

I would like to store my own textures (*.PICT) files, but none of my PC paint programs seem able to save files in that format. THey can save as *.PIC, but these don't seem to be the same. Does anyone know of free SW that can save *.PICT files on a PC? Thanks.
