I think the lighting development will be very important for DW. For me it wouldn't change what I do in the near future. The amount of data involved to use the program for a true study would have to be justified. I'd like to justify simply doing 3d models with my clients first.
More usable by most DW users from the start would be identifiable fixtures with proper light "texture" and appearance in a library, so you could just go find a lighting fixture and use it, not have to create one. I wouldn't care if it wasn't exactly the correct photometrics.
it is like landscaping. Once you make the step to do a realistic model rendering, so much time can go into putting appropiate (not exact) landscaping that could be cut by having full libraries.
Ultimately we would be able to present a whole site with the correct landscaping etc. But I admit, right now, I'd like to spend more time on the building and then just pop in some plants so it can be viewed in a realistic setting. Often a presentation is needed before the landscape architect is in the project anyway.
