I am interested to know what architects think when their creations (such as at Byker Wall) fail in the social sense? Is architecture purely aesthetic or are social consequences for residents actually thought out in the planning stages? I am a resident of the Wall, and although I love it very much there, fundamental design problems get in our way every day! The pictures on this page do not illustrate the best (and worst) of the Byker Redevelopment by the way. Comments please?
