The MacWorld Article and their linked comparison chart supports Artifice's comparison of Accelerator cards. I am considering buying one.
However I am confused by the timing of "OpenGL" (and I am not sure quite what it is anyway!).
Their quote:
"Many vendors see promise in OpenGL, a 3-D graphics API that Silicon Graphics developed for its Unix workstations. Some developers say OpenGL offers faster performance than RAVE; it also benefits from cross-platform support."
Are we talking days months or?? Does anyone know the timing on this? If not, it seems most logical to go with the ATI XClaim 3D card. Any thoughts anyone? Thanks in advance!
