Very nice model and rendering. Photo shop is by far one of the best products out there when it comes to these type of photo realistic type of renderings. It is an application that is built for all types of design work. However, as a trainee architect I find that the interface and the learning curve for this app turns me off a little ...(personal preference maybe, as there are thousands of people out there that swear by this application.) However, while attending the AiA show in Denver Colorado a few years back another painting program caught my eye. It was called Piranisi. I sat and watched while a person demonstrated the software to me. Now we all know that at these shows the competiton goes all to show the benefits af the software, but never show you the in between process to get to that final result, kinda like ADT 3.3....but I won't go there!
Anyway the gentleman took me through the actual steps of designing with Pirenisi.........I was blown away! This program seems like it was meant for architects! Now I'm not stating that it was very easy to use or that it does not have a learning curve, but the interface is wonderful I'm not overwhelmed by a bunch of stuff ....I recently got a demo version and can't wait to see the end results. Now I'll be the first to say that I've never used Photoshop or Piranisi as my research of both programs is continuing......but the one thing that I've talked to other photoshop users is the setting out of Masks within a project model before the actual painting can begin.
With Piranisi a downloaded program exports your model as an (Epix)file. The Epix file has all the same ingredients as photoshop, however, the Epix file has an added factor....Depth...The damn program sees in 3D! With the file being in 3d it is soooooooo easy to paint sufaces that are not on the same plane. This alone won me over.
I won't go any further to explain the benifits of the program....as I'm not a user. But from what I see in the new Piranisi 3....the company called http://www.informatix.co.uk/ is definitely moving in the right direction for Architects and graphic Illustrators.
