If getting your model on the grid is the issue, you can easily do that by going to layout>preferences>dimensions. In this dialogue box there is a place to select the overall grid size. I just tried it and set a grid of 200'x200'. Not sure what the limit is (none I think!) but your "request" seems possible. Frankly, I work with thebackground grid off.
Glad to see some new blood here asking good questions. I look forward to exchanging good solutions, tricks of the trade, etc. We all learn and benefit from a good exchange! BTW, you should check out Radiance Online if you haven't (saw your other post). you can see some examples by following the link below. It is photometrically accurate and the leader in the industry in this regard!
