There's an older message posted on the board that may help you figure out the Duplicate Mitered command. It can be a little tricky, but hopefully this will help explain things:

Duplicate Mitered

In DesignWorkshop, openings are subsets of objects, meaning that they must remain within the borders of the object. So, for the time being, you would have to use the Trim tool to cut across facets if your openings must span them. Select the facets that must be trimmed and group them together before trimming, then trim out your opening. When Booleans are introduced, this should no longer be an issue.
