Hello Gualtiero,

Thank you for contacting Artifice support.

It sounds as though you've managed to install DesignWorkshop Lite
successfully.

The models on the Great Buildings pages are DesignWorkshop 3dmf files
that are compressed for ease of downloading. You can decompress these
models after they have been downloaded by using Aladdin Expander.
Aladdin Expander can be freely downloaded from:

http://www.aladdinsys.com/expander/index.html

The ".sit" extension you see at the end of a Great Buildings model name means that the model is compressed and should be expanded using Aladdin Expander.

To decompress a Great Buildings model, after it has downloaded, simply drag and drop it onto the Aladdin Expander icon. This will decompress the file and remove the ".sit" extension from its name. The file extension should now be ".3dmf".

Now that your model is decompressed, you may simply drag and drop the model's icon onto the DesignWorkshop Lite icon to open it. Alternatively, you can use the File menu Open command in DesignWorkshop. If you use this method, be sure to change the File Type in the Open dialog box from ".dw" to ".3dmf".

Please let us know whenever you have further questions.

Thanks,

Mike Wheeler
