"I have mine in a folder in the Design Workshop folder. They seem to be working.."

Are you using the latest Lightworks plugin? If I recall the earlier plugins DID reside in a plugin folder within the DW folder. The Latest install in the extension folder.

"It seems to default to a heavy hatch style that takes more time. Then you have to render a second time to get what you want."

If I recall there was recently a discussion concerning the issue of having to first render your image and then set the parameters for the renderering. I hope "they" fix that soon.

"I think it is a helpful alternative to doing a realistic rendering when you don't want to have to finish-up a whole picture with textures and trees etc. Stark line drawings can be off-putting compared to a sketched look in a simple drawing."

I agree. I will often "sketch over preliminary images, either by hand or in Photoshop, during the initial stages of a project to help loosen things up. This plugin appears to have usefulness in achieve that goal without having to "jump through hoops"
