Hello David,

Thank you for bringing up this question.

The geometry generated by the Tree Machine (and all the other machines) is a sort that cannot be created in DesignWorkshop itself.

The benefit of this is the ability to create ultra lightweight geometry, like Tree Machine leaves to maximize performance, or complex geometry, like Lofting Machine objects to maximize efficiency.

This benefit comes at the cost of editability in DesignWorkshop, particularly in the case of Tree Machine leaves. The leaves cannot be extruded.

There are some trees using more traditional DesignWorkshop geometry in the 3D Object Libraries included with DesignWorkshop Classic and DesignWorkshop Professional. The more detailed library trees did come from the Tree Machine though.

Please let us know whenever you ahve further questions.
