You can easily accomplish this yourself with DesignWorkshop as it is now. Here are the steps:

1. Select All objects in your current model (Command-A)
2. Hide all the selected Objects (Command-H)
3. Import the file.
4. Select all visible objects (Command-A)
5. Cancel Hide (Shift-Command-H)

Four keyboard shortcuts in addition to the normal importing command and you have the feature you are looking for.
