We've done some work to tune up the material definitions for metals built in to the RenderCity! online Radiance rendering system. Here's a RenderCity! image showing examples of these metals:
Metal-Alum-Bronze, Metal-Alum-Clear, Metal-Copper-Bright, Metal-Gold, Metal-Brass, Metal-Brass-Bright (same as Metal-Brass-Yellow), Metal-Bronze, Metal-Chrome, Metal-Copper-Patina, Metal-Steel-Mild, (same as Metal-Steel), Metal-Steel-Rusty, Metal-Steel-Stainless.
When DesignWorkshop objects are assigned a metal material with a name that exactly matches any of these names, when the DesignWorkshop model is exported and rendered wtih RenderCity, then that metal material is _automatically_ "upgraded" so it renders as shown here.
This image was created using RenderCity, at 512x512 resolution as shown, with the "Standard" settings for detail, variability, and quality, and with light bounces set to one. The complete upload and rendering process finished in under 15 minutes, and then text labels were added using Photoshop.
