I currently have an iMac Tangerine with Mac OS 8.6, went to my local apple store and asked if I could install Mac OS X Panther onto my current system, the salesguy said I'd have no problem and I payed 129 dollars for an original copy of Panther, I got home and could not install, suppossedly I should have Mac OS 9 before I can upgrade to Panther, he did not mention this and assured me that I could go from 8.6 to Panther without a problem, do I really have to pay another 130 dollars for version 9 since I'm only going to use it for it to allow me to jump to Panther...
It's not fair, where can I get a free download or copy of version 9 so I can finally start enjoying Mac OS X Panther... please help...
