Hey Peter!
Have you tried Stuffit Deluxe? I had been having problems, too, in trying to send dwg files to an Architect in Portland...we tried everything! Then at a last resort he wanted me to send the native Powercadd file to a service bureau and they were going to open it, save it as a tiff or some such format, plot it then scan it and save it as a dwg! That seemed ridiculous to me so the rep said to try stuffing it. I haad previously tried sendinging just the vector based stuff sans text and dimensions to keep the file size down, sending as a dwg and dxf...all to no avail.

I compressed, using Stuffit Deluxe, the entire dwg file, sent it to him and it appears the compression "held" the file format together and it worked! Now he was on a Mac but forwarded the file to the Architect and he was able to open it on his PC.

Peter, similar to our past experiment, you could send me one of your files, I'll use Stuffit Deluxe to compress, then send it to your consultant (and you!). I bet it will work! Of course, I know you have aol and it doesnt work there (they use .sit format) which is sort of the same thing but it is worth a try if you want....Im game!

Let me know...and any others who might have some thoughts on this!

Gary
