All us CAD users have all been through what you are going through.
I sometimes wonder if Pencil on mylar isn't a better system. I chose CAD because it is faster than the old way but it was a two year struggle to get there. There is a solution to your problem unfortunately it will not come to fast as you want and your kind of stuck until you figure it out. That is the most frustrating aspect of CAD. After I throw a couple of chairs around the room and say the "f" word a dozen times I usually figure out what to do.
