I have posted some of this but I will throw out some of my ideas. I think the following ideas would be helpful in no particular order.
* A filter or magic wand would be nice if you could select itmes of simialr type ot color or material. Then you could make wholesale changes to an objects attributes across platforms if necessary without sleecting individual objects.
* Idealistically it would be great to have an integrated 2d/3d packaage that was strong in both aspects. It would be great if we didnt have to save as and switch programs. I could write for hours on this but I think I will be outvoted so I won't waste my time! :-)
* 3 for 3 as of now as for boooleans. I will let Ken expound on this! :-)
* RenderCity tweaking after the fact. It would be somehow nice to not have to re-render after waiting a few hours for the intial results. Also, custom textures based on user submissions in an automatic type upload. I don't think anyone is doing this. If Artifice could pull this off they would have an awesome onlne rendering package...even as strong as RenderCity is today.
* More control over interior lightling. Somehow there does not seem to be a corelation between the light settings in DW and the real world. Somehow a 100w incandescent or a 400w metal halide light should light and render based on the equivalent light distribution that they would in the real world!
* The materials menu has always confused me.(not the info box, the menu) The purge material and I think it is write materials and other options are a little confusing.
* Walktroughs should be permitted in the rendering window.(in Lights and Textures). Also walkthru command should be diagramatic or somehow more controlled on a "path" that to select consecutive views.
* Being able to select different materials or colors on different sides of a cube or object without cutting up the object then grouping it.
I think that is about it for now except agreeing with Larry on the "don't mess up a good thing" comment. It is a good thing on the verge of a great thing. Continue the good work Kevin and we are waiting with baited breath! I bet some of the above may even be available before 2.0....or could be!
I look forward to more discussion / debate on this.....
