I am getting a similar problem. I have a new Compaq Presario, and I am trying to install Dr. DivX on it, but it want the file C:\WINDOWS\Temp\$$ODDI$$\HpsdpApp\HpsdpAppCoreApp.msi for some reason. I know I went through Temp and cleaned it out, because that is what it is THERE for! TEMP files, not files you need... stupid Compaq... I will let you know if I come up with anything else.
