I have to agree in general with your other follow up replier concerning the value of RAM in a gfx card, however the cause of it is possibly a jumper setting on the card itself.
I would recommend a Geforce FX5200 for an upgrade. Nvidia cards are generally a tiny bit better than the radeon cards for the money. This model, the FX5200 is about $50 on http://www.pricewatch.com
I would recommend MSI for the brandname if you can spring the extra $20.
