I am not the most seasoned 3d viz guy, but i have worked with 3d studio on occasion for about 6 years.

I have a quick crunch project and am severly crippled wiothout a maintstain command i use. I am an arhxcitect and always draw in acad and either insert dwgs, dxfs, occasionaly 3ds to 3d viz. Also dwg link alot.

I have always been able to dxfout plines with thickness. Cap the entiies as they are inserted / linked to the 3ds model. I keep crashing my viz program constatnly when perfoming this task. I have extruded the plines and inserted as dwgs, but they don't act the same.

Can anybody resolve this problem or give me a better method. As i said i am sure 90% of the work between prgrams that i do is not efficeint, but allows me to hump along.

Thanks,
Ryan
