The latest Windows Lite versions available for download include an extensive WinHelp file which is highly recommended to everyone using the software.
As for your other questions, I'll take those one at a time:
The Group and Ungroup commands are in the Arrange menu. Select the objects you want to group and choose the Group command. The objects will now be treated as a single entity. To get them back as individual objects choose the Ungroup command.
Extruding is done by selecting an object, placing the 3D crosshair on an object handle (use SpaceJump [see below] to perfectly place the crosshair), holding down the Option key (on a Mac) or Alt key (on Windows), and clicking and dragging the mouse.
If you export the DXF from AutoCAD as a 3D model, it will be a 3D model when you import it to DesignWorkshop. If you export the DXF from AutoCAD as a 2D drawing, it will be a 2D drawing when you import it to DesignWorkshop.
DXF does not support solid objects (DesignWorkshop does), so when you import a 3D DXF you will have the surfaces of objects, rather than solid objects.
No, you do not need to redraw an existing floorplan. You can extrude the objects into 3D. To do this, select the object you want to extrude. Place the crosshair over a corner handle of the object. SpaceJump to the handle by tapping the spacebar, this changes the 3D position of the crosshair so it is located in 3D space exactly at the handle. Hold down the Alt or Option key and click and drag the mouse to give the object height.
Please let us know when you have any further questions.
Thanks,
Mike Wheeler
