I don't have hard numbers on this, but I suspect you would see no improvement at all with the Apple QD3D Accelerator Card in a machine this powerful, it may even slow things down.

The Apple QD3D card is a couple years old, ancient in the history of QuickDraw 3D. The card was developed mostly to serve as an example to other card makers of what they could do.

The newest generation of QD3D accelerator cards, such as ones using the Rage Pro chip from ATI, give very fast, impressive results.

Full editing and modeling within the Lights and Textures window is scheduled for DesignWorkshop 2.0.
