San Diego can be pricey for new residential property. I suspect Phoenix is too. An area I like near San Diego is around Mount Palomar on back towards the desert. I don't know what you mean about So. Calif. being polluted. Sometimes something weird happens where you can't see the air, but usually it's a natural sort of brown.
