Good question about Quesa. It is not something you need to think about using. The way it fits into the picture is that Quesa is how we plan to keep improving QuickDraw 3D despite the fact that Apple has stopped adding to it. And, since there was a long wish list of what we wanted Apple to do, it will be exciting to have an open source clone that we can directly contribute to and build on top of.

In a way, Quesa is an interesting piece of collective insurance for all the software companies that use and believe in the technology concept of QuickDraw 3D. If things keep going anything like the way they've gotten started, at about the time we would have started looking to Apple for the next upgrade to QD3D, we (the Quesa community) will have created it ourselves.

Before it makes sense for you to try to use Quesa with DesignWorkshop, it will be tested and certified by Artifice, probably in connection with a DesignWorkshop upgrade. Practical use of Quesa is probably a few months out at least, but it is a very promising development.

Cheers,

K
