Iposted this on the Engineered Software Board on AOL today because they are asking (finally!!) what improvements we want for PC5. Unlike Artifice, they have been somewhat stubborn and uncompromising and now they appear to want (or need to?) listen. AMonst other improvements I asked for which are nto pertinent here, I asked:
"Lastly for now, I would like a DesignWorkshop translator that somehow joined the walls or didnt break them if you used joined (is that the right term in PC i never use them joined) walls. Then when I use DW, I can extrude as a solid wall not as individual polylines or just use the lines as a template. I am not sure if this is an Artifice thing or a ES issue but obtaining "instant" solid walls by extruding the objects we export would be such a time saver in DW...."
More clearly stated (now that I re-read it), I would like to save-as a DW file from within PC then be able to extrude up the wall layers (or ANY layers) that I get in DW. I know I CAN do that now but the wall are two individual planes not one object that I can then cut an opening into. I usually use the imported polylines as a template and redraw which is not time-efficient.
Again not sure if this would be a DW thing or a PC thing. And maybe 2.o will be such a slick interface we wont need PC for our modeling needs. But for now I htinkit would be helpful.
Any thoughts, users, on the need?
Any thoughts, Artifice, (sounds like a KM question), on the liklihood? ( or is there a better way than I am doing it?)
Look forward to hearing back from all....
