I have used PCAD polylines to import into DW for a long time. Once in DW, they extrude just fine as objects that can be cut or have openings inserted into. There is frequently a problem when trying to import more than one polyline at a time; when more than one are imported , they often won't extrude, and I end up doing many individual imports.
If I were looking for improvements, this would be the first one: the ability to import more than one polyline at a time reliably.

The second desireable improvement piggybacks on this first; I usually work in "line" objects in PCAD and have to redraw over top ov them in PCAD to make a polyline for export. I know that I could "Select Adjoining" and "Attatch", but too many unwanted lines end up heving to be manully deleted and redrawing is usually faster. I make a polyline that includes as many walls, etc, as possible for each export (see my first limitation comment). If the translator would automatically "attatch" any line object that the PCAD translator could attatch, and if multiple polylines could reliably be exported, that would simplify almost all import problems (except, of course, objects with holes in them). Throwing away the occasional polyline once into DW does not seem like it would be a problem.

By the way, if I'm missing something and there is an easier way to get from PCAD lines to DW polylines, I appreciate hearing about it.

Thanks,
Ray Strang
