Thanks for the reply! Our models are constructed using 3D Studio Max (3.0). They are intended to be imported into various 3d/cad programs. As to their use, that's pretty much up to the user. Some programs that our models are used in regularly are Max, Autocad, Bryce, Poser, Raydream 3D among others. Our models are included in Bryce 4 by Metacreations, appear in print and on the included CD in 'The Poser 3 Handbook' and have appeared in numerous other books, magazines and animations.
3DS format models can easily be converted to other formats using conversion tools such as crossroads or 3DWin. Links to these programs can be found on our links pages. There are also applescripts on our Home page that convert the models for use with Macs.
Hit our links page and check out some of the work being done by the artists found there. There truly are people doing inspirational work and we're always glad to see our models appear in them.
There is also a FAQ on model use on our downloads page.
Thanks much for your interest.
