A follow up to my own message - I successfully downloaded & opened the model here at work on a Pentium (Windows 95), so the problem isn't with the model. I am guessing that the resource fork gets lost when I upload the file, and when it comes back to the Mac, DW doesn't know it's the right kind of file.
Again, any help would be appreciated ... most of the people who will look at this are Windows users, but there are plenty of us Mac die-hards out there ... :-)
