Maybe these info bits will help a little. On a Windows system, a ".cpt" file is most likely a Corel Photo-Paint file. Seems like the appropriate Corel software should be able to read it! Someone else will have to fill in what other software might read the format.

On a Macintosh system, a ".cpt" file is most likely a compressed file made with Compactor, a file compression application I haven't seen for years.
