Hello Alex,

Thank you for contacting Artifice.

It sounds like you investigated this problem, and are on the right track.

With John Zazzu's model the problem was one object way out of place. With your model I suspect the entire model has moved way out of place, that is very far from the 0, 0, 0 point.

The solution for you is to use the Edit menu, Select All command to select everything in the model. Then use the Arrange menu, Group command to group everything.

Now look in the Object Info palette. At least one of the numbers for the location is probably really big. Hopefully all the numbers for the size of the group are relatively small. If this is the case then, as I suspect, the entire model has been moved together to some distant point.

The solution in this case is easy. Simply type in 0 for the location of the group in all three dimensions. Your model will now be located in the center of the world. Now save, close, and reopen the file. You should have a good view of the model now.

If the dimensions of the group are very very large then you have objects in at least two different far away parts of the world. In this case, choose the Arrange menu, Ungroup command. Then use the Look Tool to look for these objects. Since they will still be selected they will be relatively easy to find because their handles will be visible. When you find some objects zoom in on them. If they are needed move them near the 0, 0, 0 point. If they are not needed, delete them.

Hopefully this will get you back on track with your model.

Regards,

Mike Wheeler
