DesignWorkshop should run fine on your machine.

The minimum system requirements for Windows are:

A Pentium-class processor
32MB of RAM
Windows 95, 98, or NT 4.0

DesignWorkshop is a great place to start getting into 3D design. The interface allows you to easily experiment with forms and proportions to get your design just right.
