I think that the big companies would do better with PowerCADD for 2d drafting, based on my experience with other CADD (which may or may not be used by these companies). I have less experience with Microstation and ArchiCAD (actually NO "experience" but some review of product info.)

These companies have always been way ahead with vast resources for drafting and rendering. (They would probably do well to use Ken K rendering for that side of the work as well)

Now I don't know if it would be better for them to use DW and PowerCADD as an overall package over what they are using because I don't know their systems that well. It looks like very advanced modeling can be done on DW but I don't know about the upper limit of DW work. These companies now do elaborate animated fly-throughs, fully rendered. I don't know what that takes, really. Any program should be able to utilize the latest in processor speed to it's fullest.

The one area where PowerCADD may be weak for larger projects is the lack or real estate and zoom-in capabilities, but this is being worked on. At present, large area (eg. golf course) sites are done on PowerCADD, but it requires extra work in this respect.

Peter
