Message - which 3D CAD software to purchase?

hello,

I work for a small engineering.architectural firm in Ontario, Canada.

We are considering the purchase of some 3d modelling software.
We have tried ArchiCAD, and liked it but its very pricey ($8000)
We have tried the AutoDesk 3d software and find it not as handy as ArchiCAD but it is cheaper.

Is there another choice? We are after something simple (we are mainly interested in presentation drawings, not construction drawings) and less expensive then the ArchiCAD.
