Well let me first say I really liked Designworkshop. Sadly I stopped using it because i needed a modeler that could output a file that a high end rendering program could read properly. I now use form-z, but still play a bit with DW.
The question you need to ask yourself is" what is the use for the 3d program" rough modeling? exact modeling? presentation?(animated or still), how important is lighting(is total realism needed?) and will the 3d program be used in the creation of construction drawings?
I settled on using Powercadd for all construction drawings and use several different rendering and animation programs for the final output to the clients.
I have seen some demo's of Archicad, but when i put it to the test I found the programs graphhics ability lacking. Still it is a great concept.
