Dear Keith,

If you want to do a limited amount of 2D images --> 3D model construction, then DesignWorkshop and the Contour Machine provide a simple technology to get the job done.

If this is something you want to do on a production basis for a considerable period of time, then I would recommend looking into "vtk", the Visualization Toolkit. VTK is a very comprehensive open source 3D toolkit for scientific and medical visualization. It does take considerable technical know-how to set up vtk for a particular application.

We'd be interested in knowing more about your application, in case DesignWorkshop or other tools from Artifice could be useful for you.

Cheers,

K
