I haven't had the opportuinity to try integrated 3d/2d.
Some say that AutoCAD (With AutoArchitect) , Microstation (withadd-ons), ArchitCAD, and MiniCAD all work well this way (Depending on whom you talk to.
I haave looked at SoftPlan and had my doubts about it working in the typical job I do, but some use that too
So it seems integrated 2d/3d is here depending on how much you want to spend or how little you will accept.
I would like to see Design Workshop become easier to use in manipulation of objects, similar to PowerCADD. especiallly in working in the 2d mode. This means more variesties of snap and align. More visual cues. Duplication should be similar to PowerCADD , mirror, cutting objects (Boolean operations). Extrusion of imported lines doesn't seem to work as well as with polygons ( although it is not real 3d, look at Alfred Scotts WildTools 3D for ease of use.
I'd like to see more support of the objects window. for example to enter multiple data in one shot and to have it always appear if you like. (preferences need to be added, saved between sessions: views, paletes, TIME OF DAY etc.). An editable color palette would be helpful.

I find that for final plot I need to send to another software to do page layout. How about a "paper space" where views can be collated at different scales with a standard title block ( support for lineweight needed), and the whole thing could be previewed.
