How are you doin' Gary? It's really nice that you've been active with this message board. I'm still thinking about the 2d/3d subject that you brought up previously. When I get the chance, I'll post my thoughts on it.
Anyway, in response to your question on how to make a round object, I'm assuming you want to know how to create a sphere or ball. I've had a chance to do it in one of the theaters I modeled for a previous employer a long time ago. So in addition to CJ's suggestion to use DW's spheroid libraries, here's how I do it manually:
In elevation view, I draw a quarter of a circle while holding down the shift key. Then on the object info window, I give it a thickness. You now have a quarter "pie" which you can "duplicate mitered" from the plan view to create a dome or half of a sphere. Depending on how smooth you want the object, you can adjust the number of circle facets and the total number of objects to be duplicated to suit your needs. You will now group the duplicated (mitered) objects and duplicate it to its proper half location. The last step is to flip the duplicated dome vertically. I have a sample if you want one.
By the way, the last rendered view you emailed me looked really great. Hopefully when things slow down here, I'd get the chance to test Radiance again. Keep up with the excellent work!
