We presented three renderings (two interior & one exterior). They were printed on an HP750C large format inkjet plotter using high gloss film as the media. Really captures color well. We spent a total of 35 hours on the exterior model, and about 40 hours modeling the interior. We did not use Radiance, although it would've been nice. Instead we rendered the model using the LightWorks SuperLite plug-in included with Design Workshop Professional. The lights in the models project light both up & down, thereby creating the shadows you see on the ceiling. The illusion of bouncing light was created from having so many light sources. The interior model was 3.1 megs and took 75 minutes to render on a G3 mac w/ 500 megs of RAM (350 megs of that was virtual memory). PowerCADD played an important role in modeling. Since our office is very proficient with PowerCADD, we used it to draw the profiles of many complex shapes (handrails, bleachers, trusses) then imported them into Design Workshop and extruded them to the appropriate depth. The two programs worked like magic together.
