It sounds to me like you are making things harder on yourself than they need to be.
Going from DesignWorkshop to PowerCADD and then back to DesignWorkshop will make things take much longer than normal when your goal is just a DesignWorkshop model. When you go from DW to PowerCADD you lose all the 3D information that you created in DesignWorkshop. When you go back to DesignWorkshop you will have to make these objects 3D a second time.
I think you will find the combination of PowerCADD and DesignWorkshop much more powerful if you do most of your work in DesignWorkshop. Draw only the complex shapes in PowerCADD and import these into your DesignWorkshop model. Don't import more than you need to, and definitely don't go from DesignWorkshop to PowerCADD with objects when your goal is a 3D model, rather than 2D drawings.
