I am looking for a 3D program that I can take autocad 2000 art and turn into a lifelike 3d model.

For architectural rendering and animation - beautiful results with a minumum of stress - Artlantis by Abvent is a great option to consider. Artlantis for ACAD reads DWG directly very well, and the lighting, viewing, and texturing controls are much easier for architectural work than 3DS.

Good luck,

Alex
