I have seen a Solidworks and Autodesk Inventor as modeling packages but not in detail. What I have seen seems to be more for the mechanical and metal designs. Can these packages be used in the wood industry? Are there other packages better suited?I am looking to design a cabinet, assign joint construction to the pieces, and send the information to a post processor for a CNC router. Also, I would like to construct shop drawings (ie. face, top, and side views of the cabinets). If possible, I would like for the program to create a cut list of materials. Is there such a product on the market? If a rocket can be built, surly a cabinet can be constructed by some type of design software.
Any advice or help will be greatly appreciated.
