Message - Problem with 3DS Max, loading grid

Hello,

I just go 3DS Max 4.0.When i load the program up every thing goes as planed but when its all finished the "grid" isn't there. Instead its the previous screen. Also, if you open a menu, the menu is in the "grid" area. HELP! I’ve had this sort of thing happen with other programs, but with 3DS, it happens whenever I load it up. Maybe I don’t have enough MHZ? I'm running P3 450, 128 RAM
