Message - Yes Autocad is rigid, & that's its best feature!

The reason why it is so much better to model in a program such as Autocad is because it is clumsy, old fashioned, & the UCS ties your hands behind your back. It's called comfort.
Give me that anyday over a program that models by deforming primitives (such as Max does). Although I am skilled enough at it, the "create everything by deforming & modifying a cube or sphere" method annoys the hell out of me.
