Hi Kevin:
I'm attaching a jpeg file of my latest 3D model. Douglas Teiger (my boss) was commisioned to design the building that will house MuscleMag International retail store in Santa Monica. The location is on trendy Main Street, a popular commercial strip of retail stores and restaurants two blocks from the beach.
For this model, I used alpha textures quite extensively using my new G3 computer. For the background (although Mike Wheeler was gonna make me a special Envirodome 3DMF showing dark blue skies with gradients) I opted to use a block behind the model with a dark blue gradient texture. The white neon effect on the main signage turned out good too!
About the project:
MuscleMag International wanted a 3500 square foot building design that exudes strength. The straight forward use of steel "I" beams and heavy timber construction with exposed connections creates boldness with warmth. The store's window displays are created using 6 X 6 timber to establish grids framing the merchandise. The 30 foot entry tower appears to float over the corner entry where a DNA sculpture hung from the ceiling. Construction is set to begin in early 1999.
