Look into programs like Autodesks' Architectual Desktop. With it you can draw up your floor-plan and create the 3d model at the same time. It also has features like doors, windows, roofs, furniture, and even 3d toilets. I'm not a pro at it but I've used it.
Other programs like Archicad, like Dave mentioned, are also available.Scott
