As far as other 3D web formats go treuSpace also includes the VET format from Viewpoint. A very small format and very easy to create a file for the web. No lingo required. License is free for non-commercial use.
The SW3D format is included but requires Director 8.5 to put it on the web.
trueSpace can also generate 3D flash files with the flash plug-in. it is a great program for designing and creating web content and 3D web files anoung many other things.
The link below will take you to a completly blind test site. The main page was a quick test done in iSpace. Took about 3 minutes to do the entire site, links and all. Included on some of the button links are some VET files.
Also you will find a SW3D file of a room you can navigate. Use w,s,a,d to get around.
