You need a boot disk. This is a floppy with DOS on it.
Look up: "How to make a boot disk" - or get one from someone.

Your PC will boot off the floppy and then you can use fdisk to format your harddrive and then you can install windows or what ever.

If your PC supports Booting from a CD (all newer ones) you can go into the BIOS:

1. press Del. while PC is starting and the BIOS (basic input output system) will pop up.. From here you can configure the CDROM to be searched before your C: or before your A: (floppy). Then stick your windows CD in and have phun.
