Hello neighborhoods. Our office has undergone some changes in staffing
recently so I thought I would provide an update and clarify who is on
the Neighborhood Services team and their responsibilities. I'm excited
about the changes (I think you will be too) and believe this group will
continue to improve the services we provide.
Program Manager - Isaac Markehe has left the program to serve as
Recreation Manager at Hilyard Community Center. I am serving as Acting
in Capacity (AIC) for a minimum of six months, until the position is
filled permanently. An open, competitive process will be used to fill
this position. If I do not end up as the permanent Program Manager I
have the option of returning to my former position as Neighborhood
Planner.
Neighborhood Planner - Lorna Flormoe was hired in October to work
primarily on producing the next generation of neighborhood plans. These
"action plans" are anticipated to include a needs assessment and
identification of strategies/actions linked to City program priorities
and budgets. We are still developing the scope of this program and will
be reaching out to neighborhoods in the near future once a general
framework is in place. Lorna can be contacted at 682-5670 or
lorna.r.flormoe at ci.eugene.or.us.
Neighborhood Planner - Beginning December 29th, Rene Kane will be
filling this position for at least 6 months, pending resolution of the
AIC Manager. This remains a temporary position until the Program
Manager is permanently filled. Rene will continue with the land use
duties associated with this position but will also be focusing on
training and capacity building programs for neighborhoods as well as
assisting with neighborhood planning. Rene can be contacted at 682-6243
or rene.c.kane at ci.eugene.or.us (effective 12/29).
Program Coordinator - Beginning in January, Cindy Clarke will be in our
office full time. In addition to her newsletter editor duties, she will
be managing the Neighborhood Matching Grant Program, coordinating events
and equipment rental, maintaining neighborhood leader lists and
producing the leader packets. Cindy can be contacted at 682-5272 or
cindy.j.clarke at ci.eugene.or.us.
If you have any questions about these changes please give me a call.
