Hello Neighborhood Leaders,
The Neighborhood Program Assessment is now in its third month. I am
writing to you to let you know that we have developed a website intended
to help communicate the progress and process of the assessment. Each
step of this assessment has been a collaboration of the work and
perspectives of both neighborhood leaders and city staff. These
combined efforts are leading to an informed and thorough assessment of
the Neighborhood Program.
The website is located at http://www.eugene-neighborhoods.org . I
encourage you to take a look and contact me or any of the steering
committee members if you have questions or comments. This assessment is
utilizing a variety of techniques for input and information. Next week
we will be posting a web survey and we hope that each of you will find
the time to complete the survey yourself AND distribute it to your
various networks.
Finally, I would like to ask for the help of current Neighborhood
Association Chairs. Among many things, the Steering Committee has
advised the consultants on who to interview in this process and where to
conduct sidewalk/backpack surveys. We are now asking for nominations
of;
1) Current board members who have not been Chairs or Co-Chairs.
-and-
2) Neighborhood Association participants who have not been on the board.
These are people who show up to general meetings, but not necessarily
board or steering committee meetings.
You are nominating them to participate in an interview conducted by the
consultant team of Jeanne Lawson and Associates. These interviews are
guided by questions developed with the Steering Committee, but the
interviews are not confined to only those questions. The interviews
will last between 45 minutes and 1 hour.
Sincerely,
Isaac Markehe
