[NLC] Climate and Energy Action Plan

Neighborhood Leaders,

Please pass the following information along to your neighborhood board
members and/or your neighborhood distribution list.

The City of Eugene, along with partnering organizations including the
Neighborhood Leaders Council, and members of the public, are working
together to develop a plan to reduce our consumption of and reliance on
fossil fuels, and to prepare for future effects of climate change.

The Eugene Climate and Energy Action Plan will be ready for adoption by
the City Council by August 2010. The plan will set goals to reduce
greenhouse gas emissions and prepare our community to be resilient in the
face of a changing climate and rising oil costs. To meet these challenges
we need your input.

Here are two important piece of information, please pass them along to
your friends and acquaintances:

1. There will be two project kickoff events for the public on September
26, 2009, one from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and another from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. -
both at North Eugene High School. See the attached flyer for details.

2. The project has a web site where you can get more information and keep
track of the progress of this important community effort:
